Getting a call from a loved one in jail can be stressful. Not only are you stuck trying to figure out how you are going to get them out of jail, but you are stuck trying to make sense of what landed them there in the first place. Trying to get them out of jail can take a little bit of time and patience on your part. Thankfully, there are a few different options available to get your loved one out of jail quickly and easily.

Personal Recognizance Bond

A personal recognizance bond allows your loved one to get out of jail without having to pay anything out of their own pocket. These individuals are let out on their word that they are going to come to court when asked. This often applies to those who have never been charged with any type of crime in the past. The court also looks at the nature of the crime. A more serious crime such as murder or arson might not be granted any bail at all, while a larceny or drunk driving could walk away with a personal recognizance bond.

Cash

Cash bonds are essentially when you are told a certain dollar amount to get your loved one out of jail. If their bail is $10,000 cash, you will have to come up with the whole amount before they are going to get out of jail. This particular type of bond can make it a little more difficult to get your loved one out of jail.

Bail Bondsman

If your loved one was granted a bond offering a 10% option, you can call upon a bail bondsman for help. They issue what is referred to as surety bonds. Instead of paying the full $10,000, you can get them out of jail for $1,000 or less. One of the best parts of using a bondsman is that you can often reduce the 10% even further by putting up some form of collateral, such as a car, home or land. However, you are taking responsibility for the individual, so you want to make sure they go to court as scheduled.

With so many different options available to get them out of jail, you are sure to get them back home with you quickly. Take your time and go through all of the different options to determine which one is best for your particular case. If you ever have any questions about the whole process, you can always take the time to speak with a bail bonds company.
